Well here at Web Merchant we we
consider ALL businesses (except for those that are on
the prohibited business list)
and financial circumstances in all European countries
and can help many high-risk business such as adult,
betting, tipping, jewellery, etc.
Please note that special terms may be applied to high-risk
accounts such as rolling reserves, longer settlement
periods and an annual fee. However until an application
is made we are unable to tell you what terms, if any,
are included.
Please also be aware that high-risk and adult
accounts can take longer to set-up than standard
accounts due to the nature of the business
and the banks that we use to acquire the merchant ID
(MID) number. Therefore supplying the relevant information
in the correct format from day 1 will speed up the process
tremendously.

Providing annual membership or subscription
services?
Unfortunately the banks that we use for our merchant
accounts, as well as Visa and MasterCard, are refusing
these types of businesses. The issue is with it being
annual payments (what happens if a customer pays for
a years membership but the business goes under after
6 months?) and not so much the amount of the transaction.
The problem worsens if 100% of the business is based
on annual memberships or subscriptions.
We will allow annual memberships, paid annually, where
this makes up a small percentage of the business e.g.
20% otherwise we can only allow annual memberships that
are debited either monthly or quarterly from the customers
credit or debit card.
