Who are Web Merchant Services?
We are a UK company with administrative headquarters
in Kingston upon Hull and processing offices in Cambridge
and Amsterdam. This means Web Merchant Services are
ideally located to process online payments and MOTO
(mail order, telephone order) payments for many different
industry sectors throughout Europe and the World!
Only company in
the UK that could provide online merchant services
For a number of years we were the only company in the
UK that could provide online merchant services. Even
the high-street banks were cynical of online payments
until the late 90's, early 2000's. Because of this we
had to go outside the UK, and formed a relationship
with a major French bank (Bank Pariba).
In 1999 we teamed up with NatWest allowing us to cut
through the red tape even more. Now in 2010 we have
forged several relationships with different banks. These
include Royal Bank of Scotland, Elevon, Bank of Israel
(CAL), BarclayCard, B+S Card Services (Germany), Postbank,
Valitor (formerly VISA Iceland) and FBME. Most recently
JCC (Cyprus), who approached us in early 2010, have
come on board.
Could I go straight to that bank and get the same deal
that you offer?
No. We have spent many months negotiating with the
banks we use to get you the best possible deal. Due
to specific terms and conditions they cannot offer the
same prices etc.
Price isn't always the biggest contributing
factor
How many times have you spoken to the same person twice
when contacting a bank call centre?
We do not operate out of a call centre or use an automated
phone system. This means you speak to a real person
from the moment we answer the phone. You are also allocated
your own dedicated account manager which means that
you always speak to the same person. We find this feature
one of the biggest benefits to our customers, and the
one they appreciate the most. You will also be provided
with the account managers own work email address which
goes direct to them. None of this info@ where it could
get lost into the company ether!
What would happen
to my account if Web Merchant Services decided to close?
As we are not a bank, we must use banks to produce
a merchant ID number for our customers. This means that
your agreement is with them. Therefore if we were to
close, your account would not be effected and you would
still be able to operate without a single problem or
delay.
How secure
is Web-Merchant?
Security is probably one of the most significant concerns
for both the shopper and the retailer during an online
transaction. In reality an online transaction is probably
more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted
over the phone... read more >>>
